Craig Falkner, CFA

Craig has been deeply involved in investment markets and research Craig Falkneranalysis for over 19 years. He has committed himself to provide clients a high level of satisfaction by incorporating wealth analysis, portfolio construction, estate planning, and insurance review to a broad array of individuals, foundations, and institutions. To accomplish this, Craig is devoted to working with client’s advisors such as tax preparers, attorneys, and insurance representatives to fully encompass a broad spectrum of ideas to achieve desired outcomes.

Craig has held multiple positions, most recently with Orgel Wealth Management where he was Director of Portfolio Management. There, he was responsible for allocating and reviewing investment decisions across 1,500+ accounts totaling over $2 billion in assets. Due to his significant experience, he was responsible for bond purchases and analysis and implemented the most complex estate structures. As a principal of the firm, he oversaw software and hardware technology implementations and was named Chief Financial Officer for the Registered Investment Advisory firm.

Before his time with Orgel Wealth Management, Craig was a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Wells Fargo, Private Asset Management. He was responsible for construction of portfolios for a wide array of individual clients, foundations and trusts utilizing individual securities, mutual funds, ETF’s, Hedge Funds, and Alternative investments. He accomplished this by working with a team of trust officers, private bankers, and financial advisors located in the north central region. He was also responsible for Research Analysis for the Enterprise Hardware industry and disseminated his analysis to Model Managers and Portfolio Managers on a national basis. During this time, Craig achieved his CFA designation, a rigorous progression over three years, which required significant understanding and testing on highly complex financial concepts.

Craig started his career on an institutional trading desk for Tokai Bank in Chicago. There, he traded overnight fed funds, currency swaps, and provided oversight to the banks’ daily reserve to loan balance. Craig received his degree in Economics with minors in Finance and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Currently, he resides in Eau Claire with his wife, Liz and their two children Madeline and Robert. In his spare time, you can find Craig donating his time to multiple charitable organizations as well as enjoying the beautiful Northwoods and Lake Country with his family on weekends.
